Flexicon Europe Ltd
Flexicon Corporation is one of the world’s leading designers and manufacturers of bulk materials handling equipment. From their European HQ in Whitsable the company designs, builds and ships around the world.
Cliff Holmes, Production Manager at Flexicon Europe explains why their industrial paint selection is critical.
“We use Brantho-Korrux exclusively to paint our carbon steel frames. We tried other brands and other methods of coating, and theirs has proven to be the best fit for our needs. We don’t have to prime the frames before applying it, and a single coat usually covers any of the metal discoloration common in processes like ours. The painters here like using it, as it goes on with good adhesion and the clean-up process is easy.”
IPCS paints and coatings used
Bulk materials handling
Whilst all Flexicon products come with a stainless-steel construction option, the majority of their products feature carbon steel framing.
Flexicon is one of the largest producers in the bulk handling market. Their wide range of products includes bulk bag (FIBC) dischargers, fillers, and conditioners, plus container tipper and small bag compactor lines.
Painting modular framework
“Everything leaves our plant looking great. We’ve seen plenty of frames either in person, or via photos, that have been in someone’s plant for years. The finish has held up and the equipment still looks good.”
The frameworks were coated using an airless spray system to minimise overspray. 3 in 1 was mixed with Robust-Lack and hardener to achieve the desired finish and resilience required.
Coatings for tough steel frames
Flexicon selected IPCS’ range of paints and coatings to prime and paint their machines and steel structures for maximum durability whilst efficient to apply. This busy factory environment requires all surfaces to be extremely durable and resistant to fluids.
Paints and coatings for machines
Both paints provide highly protective, anti-corrosion properties which are are ideal in a busy factory environment. The Nitrofest gives a matt finish and the Robust-Lack provided the gloss where needed.
